An original and very charming Pinot Blanc d'Alsace
  • The vintage
  • Early ripening and well managed yields made 2015 a successful vintage! After a very mild winter, spring continued to be very clement and easy. The warmer months of May and June encouraged vine growth. A July heat wave (often more than 40°C) with no rain slowed the vegetative cycle considerably. Happily, in mid August, the rain fell and permitted the vines to grow and the grapes to ripen. By end of August, the vines were in perfect condition. The weeks before harvest were sunny with cool nights and light showers. The grapes matured perfectly.

  • In the vineyard
  • After a 3 year period of conversion beginning 2010, our vineyards are certified Organic in 2013 by Ecocert France. We are guided by our choice to develop the natural balance in our soils. All chemical herbicides and pesticides are replaced by precise, well timed organic treatments. Each vine’s extraordinary potential is developed by plowing and hoeing the soils. The grapes are hand harvested between mid September and October.
  • Winemaking
  • The vintage and harvest date are primordial in our wine making protocol. To guarantee impeccable quality, the harvest, once perfectly ripe, is pressed slowly and delicately for about 5 hours. To preserve the delicious flavors and aromas, we have chosen to keep only the heart of each press. After a first fermentation in stanless steel tanks a malolactic fermentation in 1-3 year old oak barrels pursues until the wine is bottled in September. Light batonnage.

  • Service
  • Can drink now or age 7 to 8 years. Should always be stored on their sides, at an ambient temperature of 10-15°. The ideal serving temperature is 8-10°.
  • Food pairings
  • Excellent with a fish dish served in a buttery sauce, poultry, fresh cheeses.
  • Tasting
  • Elegant, fine nose with white flower notes and smooth oak. The mouth is pure with a hint of toast and a crisp acidity.
