An exceptional Pinot Noir d'Alsace!
  • The vintage
  • 2011 was an extremely well balanced vintage. The days at the end of the growing season were sunny and warm. Nights were cool. Aromas and fine acidities were preserved.
    We took the opportunity to vinifie the wines a bit drier to showcase the lovely crisp structures.

  • Essentially calcareous-clay
  • In the vineyard
  • Our domaine is in conversion BIO, Ecocert France certified, since 2010. Our goal is to foster soil enrichment with cover crops, composts, mulching and minimum tillage. We adapt cover crops to our local rainfall. When abundant, we let the grasses grow. When particularly dry, we till the soil or use the rolofaca. Grapes are hand harvested in early October.
  • Winemaking
  • Destemmed grapes are macerated for 1 week then pressed delicately to preserve maximum aromas. 3/4 of the volume is kept in new oak barrels before blending. Bottling after a light filtration in August.

  • Service
  • Can be aged 8 years. Store on side between 10-15°C. Ideally served at room temperature.
  • Food pairings
  • Very good with wild game, red meats and rich cheeses.
  • Tasting
  • Rich ruby red with purple hues. Raised for 12 months in French oak barrels, this Pinot Noir has black cherry and smooth vanilla aromas with rich, soft oak flavors and silky tanins. Delicious.
