LA REVUE DES VINS DE FRANCE – RVF Best French Wines Guide 2012

Created in 1959 after the union of the Sipp and Mack families, the winery’s vinyards are in Hunawihr, Ribeauvillé and Bergheim.  Members of the Tyflo Association, the current owners cultivate their fields with sustainable farming and integrated pest management methods. Their wine ranges include three Alsace wine profiles:  Tradition, Vieilles Vignes et Grand Cru – Osterberg and Rosacker, the sure values of the domain.

The wines : Muscat d’Alsace appears fresh and perfect for apéritifs.  The Riesling Vieilles Vignes is pure and clean.  However, one changes catégories with the Riesling Grand Cru Rosacker 2008, ageing very well but keeping its freshness.  Slightly more creamy in texture, the Riesling Grand Cru Osterberg 2005 is perfect today. The Gewurztraminer SGN 2007 possesses varietal characteristics and candied fruit sweetness that’s beautifully integrated.
